Not my birthday

I guess since turning Fifty
I really don't like celebrating my birthday.
Some of my family think that is weird, not I.

I think I crossed the line this year with keeping belly fat under control..
1. I just can't exercise it off,
2. I don't want to starve it off.

Here is my conculsion to this fat reality:
Yes, I think I like it and I am sticking with it!

Theory of XOXO

The answer you all have been waiting for on
Valentines Day

What does XOXO (hugs & kisses) mean?

"One theory holds that the X stands for a kiss because it originally represented a highly stylized picture of two mouths touching -- x. Furthermore, in early times illiterates often signed documents with a St. Andrew's cross of X and kissed that X to show their good faith (as they did with any cross or the Bible, which reinforced the association). But these explanations may be folk etymology, as may the story that mathematically the X is a 'multiplier' -- in this case of love and delight." From the "Encyclopedia of Word and Phrase Origins" by Robert Hendrickson (Facts on File, New York, 1997)." The origins of the O as a hug are not generally known, although it is speculated that it may represent the arms wrapped around someone being hugged. Another thought is that it came from Jewish immigrants who would sign with an O instead of an X because they did not wish to mark their word with the obviously Christian cross the X represented. THINK SNOW

When you live in Utah
just about this time of year...every year...
you are telling yourself;

"I need some sunshine"
"I need to see color again".

Well..NOT this year...
Slope conditions

View of hills in downtown Park City without snow.

It was 54 degrees yesterday and today 52!
You can imagine the snow conditions
(chart below are the stats of snow fall at the ski resorts as of Feb 10)

Here are some headlines:

With snowpack in
Utah at about 50 percent of its average

Ski resort towns, are
suffering due to a lack of
skiers and snowboarders, many of whom
are avoiding the
thinly covered slopes for now.

The lack of snow,

attributed to abnormal western weather patterns

and unseasonably warm temperatures in the East.

This winter’s lack of snow caused

Ogden, Utah officials to cancel Winterfest 2012.

This is the last thought on this subject.

I've looked at Love...

LOVE

Robert Indiana

Conceived in a time when the United States was consumed by the Vietnam War, LOVEbecame a symbol for Peace. This famous sculpture is one of the most celebrated works within the pop art movement as well the art world as a whole.

Here is my version of LOVE...

This is how I framed L O V E
(notice the O is facing to the left... : )

This is the Black & White of my colorful image
that is my blog banner this month.
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all.
