Ahh..the summer garden

(Before)

Here it is, the last day of May and I just finished planting my vegetable garden.
For some reason I could not find zucchini plants at
any of the nurseries in the valley.
Yesterday I was buying some annuals and found the prolific zucchini.

I pulled bok choy and salad mix with some arugula.
It is a process to clean these veggies.
I have a 3-step cleaning program..
 the first step:
rinse off dirt from root base.
Then clean and rinse two more times

Here is the first batch of salad greens.

Much more to come!  (After)

I think I will visit the local Farmers Market on Saturday

Letting Go..

I have not mastered the art of "Letting Go", what I mean is, there are certain things that reeeallly bother me.

Maybe it is because I am in my middle years of life and have seen things that I cannot change or know will NOT change.

Here are a few examples:
(not in order of importance)
-My local TJ Maxx is filthy, trashy, unorganized=poorly managed!
- I have not yet found a job.
-Driving in Utah (the worst drivers in the US)
Why many in the middle east countries repress women
~
I could go on..but you might think I have OCD...

My father taught me this since I was a young girl to
"NOT LET IT RUIN YOUR DAY"

OK, I say, easier said than done!
I found this web-site that deals with Positive Health, maybe I have
just diagnosed my inability to let go..
Google: "Don't Let"
and see the results!

Sometimes I wish I was perfect!

A need for blankets

May 2009
21 Women in Provo, Utah tying quilts for Humanitarian Aid.

Yesterday, was a great day, where I was able to help make and tie four quilts
for LDS humanitarian center.

Check this out if you are interested in doing this on your own time.
They always have a need for something.
You don't have to sew, you can put together hygiene kits,
school supply kits and many other items.

We had one of the largest turn outs for this usually small group.
I meet two woman visiting here from Bulgaria!
No matter what religious affiliation you are..what culture, nationality we can all do
our part in bringing about small change to our ever growing world.
~
This is what we accomplished.

Back to Aging..

Take a look at this brave "Old Dame"

I think it is great to have experienced older woman out in the visual eye for mainstream
younger generations to see.
I believe that aging is all about how you physically feel and how you accept the aging process.

Although, I do think that celebrity status is unfair to the "regular" woman who is aging,
I like it when I see a "star" that hasn't done all the "plastic" stuff.

Long live the woman who can let nature takes its course and not alter it!

Hilary Duff Dress

When you are 14 yrs old, this is what your mother can make for you in a 4 hour period of time, uninterrupted, no NPR blaring in the back ground, the cat & dog are shut out of the room and... of course you have your special magnifying glasses on...

I tweaked the coller to become a "Jane Austin" neckline.
