I Fainted

I'm not sure why it happened, but this "supergirl" fainted on the job today at her desk on a webinar about scanning documents.

The paramedics that came to resuscitate me were so cute!
(I did gain consciousness when they arrived)

This sent my office into a 911 mode.

The emergency room doctor ran some tests and found really nothing.
He said that because I had a fever, and was dehydrated
I must be coming down with the flu!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped me through this trauma today.

I'm a Fan

I know when it started,
It was 1998-99

BYU Men's Volleyball team came to play a match a UCI
(University of Irvine, California)

The swede and I for some reason..
(I believe it was my dad, who is a great sports fan,
called us to tell us to go see them play).

He told us of how fantastic the BYU Men's Volleyball team
was that year, and so we decided to attend this game and give out
a RAH! to the cougars.

It was a great match, but as I recall the boy's did not win that match.
The excitement and energy at that game was because of the
large support of BYU fans in So. Cal.

I hope you can get alittle excited too..
Here is this years team:

P.S. They played a great match against Stanford this weekend.

Being Productive

Since I am now a working woman,
there is absolutely zero time
to do anything that is of consequence.

What I mean is... getting organized and having life
in a clean and orderly space.
So I decided to re-organize and de-clutter my
"PROJECT ROOM"
(Call it what ever you need it to be and that room is it!)
Here is an example of what I did today
(day off.. MLK Day)

Going through the fabric and color coded it.

Oh, yeah, I had some help from the "boys", they
were thrilled to spend some time with me.

If you need a idea or a pattern of any kind, let me know
I now have everything in a nice binder!

In the "midst of the clean", I found a humanitarian
baby blanket I finished.
Not bad for a long day of vacation!

Them Bones....

I first read this novel 7 years ago by Alice Sebold
When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. This was before milk carton photos and public service announcements, she tells us; back in 1973, when Susie mysteriously disappeared, people still believed these things didn't happen. In the sweet, untroubled voice of a precocious teenage girl, Susie relates the awful events of her death and her own adjustment to the strange new place she finds herself. It looks a lot like her school playground, with the good kind of swing sets. With love, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie watches her family as they cope with their grief, her father embarks on a search for the killer, her sister undertakes a feat of amazing daring, her little brother builds a fort in her honor and begin the difficult process of healing. In the hands of a brilliant novelist, this story of seemingly unbearable tragedy is transformed into a suspenseful and touching story about family, memory, love, heaven, and living.

It was such an experience to read this book in the third
person and from the vantage point of someone dead.

Today I made my new year trek with these
lovely (bones) sister and cousin..

..to see this movie..I loved it and will end up purchasing it.
It has sadness, anger, beauty and redemption.
I give it a two thumbs ups !

My Second Family

As you know, I am now working at DeVry University
in Salt Lake City.

I tell myself everyday that I can keep up and be totally focused at
what my new responibilities require of me.

The commute to The SL Valley is almost serene.
What I mean, is that it is a time
for me to reflect on the day,
listen to NPR, call friends and family (yes I wear an ear piece!)

When I return home from a "hard day at work" the swede has dinner
ready for me and Dallas.
(I will miss this when he starts back on his travel schedule.)

This is really why I am posting today because
this is my "Second Family", people that I spend a lot
of time with Monday - Friday.

Snowshoe Saturday

Since moving to Utah..
(I wonder when I will stop refering to this four word sentance)?

I have tried to embrace the winter by being actively
engaged in outside sports!

Last weekend a few family members, myself and the "Swede"
went up to Big Springs (Provo Canyon) and I
might add, The most beautiful spot
to hike, snowshoe, picnic and star
gaze in the Wasatch Mountains.

My nephew's; Ryne, Zak, and
sister Jeana and the "Swede"

We found this great backdrop and set up the camera up on
a broken tree stump to take an auto shot.

Notice the "Swede" has facial hair, I asked him
to grow a beard and
Wow.. I really like it!
