LDS Humanitarian

I have been participating in this great world wide cause for those that are in need of food, clothes, school supplies, medicine, medical equipment and much more for the past 5 years.

Having extra time(not currently working) which is a whole "other story", this has given me the opportunity to contribute what I can to this wonderful and worth while charity.

I have made
*school bags.
*made over 40 + quilts of all sizes.
*Dolls
*fleece pull over tops
*winter caps
*small girl dress and skirts
*sewn cloth baby diapers

I don't mean to make this a brag, I am blogging this because, we all have our talents and strengths that can be of benefit to someone.

You can make a difference one stitch at a time!

Cabin Fever

I ask myself this question about this time(February) every year or for at least the last three years I have lived in Utah...
when is it going to be Spring???

Birthday Crown

My oldest turned 29 on Sunday, it is either a joyous thought or a somber one.

I believe it's joyous because:
1. She is a very good person
2. Beautiful and very stylish
3. Independent, Dependable and Reliable
4. Good Wife and Mother, Sister, Daughter
5. She is carrying my THIRD grandchild
6. I get to be her Mother and Friend!
Love you Aubry...

Coraline 3-D THE MOVIE

So this movie about a girl who has parents that ignore her, who is very imaginative, who is NOT afraid of anything!
Who Has Blue hair and really cool clothes.
The cats freaked me out and I love CATS.
The 3-d glasses gave me a major headache.
I ate half a bag of popcorn and my sister ate the other half.
Had a few hard laughs
Got confused with the storyline..it actually makes no sense.

But I came away from this movie with a NEW Outlook....

A typical day

****I am still looking for a job.****
(I have stopped counting the days of  when I started my search).

*I applied for two jobs yesterday, filling out
applications, questionnaires etc.

*I had a phone conversation with someone named "Blake"
from a Temp Service about a job that they are trying to fill for a "potential client"...why me..why could they just have serviced this client in the passed and had a great record of
placing temps in their company?

*I ended this job search (at my computer) around 3:00 pm.

*Picked Dallas up from school.

*Hid out in my project room, finished this quilt top..Yeah!

This quilt was offered as a block of the month at American Quilting (Orem ,Utah)
but I just bought the whole kit and made it. It was fun and gave me something to do with
all the spare time I have.

This quilt was six blocks of hand applique,
square in a square, flying geese.

I reached a 150!

Ah.. anything in it that says 50 I just love!

I have blogged 150 entries this day.

*I know that I will never live to be a 150..
*I may make 150 quilts before I leave this frail existence..
*I know I have made over a whopping 150 family meals..
*I have bought well over 150 items of clothing..
*I have kissed the swede 150 times..and maybe other
things pertaining to love!
*I have traveled over 150 miles to see loved ones get married,
celebrate births and deaths.
*I will have 150 grey hairs this year!

Wishing you all a Happy 150!
Have a piece of chocolate on me..

My new love

Since moving to Utah, I have learned a lot about cold weather
(like it or not)!

I have always admired cold weather clothing, but since bathing suits and halter tops, shorts and sandals are the basics in a So. Cal wardrobe you really don't get to wear or feel cashmere wool.

I now have three items of cashmere:

1. Cream sweater (above)
2. Light blue boat necked sweater
3. A red neck scarf
The feel and softness..
The warmth(not to hot)..
The comfort..

I will be looking for more wonderful, beautiful cashmere!
P.S... I wear a size 8 or medium...

This I know..

That life is fragile
I must be as good as I can be..everyday
I can show gratitude for all that is given to me
I must find the small and simple things in life and rejoice.

Our talents are the gift that God gives to us..What we make of our talents is our gift back to God.
