- Step1
Even if the Oscars party doesn't have a red-carpet roll out, dress
up anyway. This may be your only chance to get gussied up this year.
- Step2
Dust off that old tuxedo or evening dress from the closet, rent a fancy get-up or go shopping for new duds. Dressing up in formal
wear will make you look and feel fabulous. - Step3
If you're afraid of attracting too much attention, wear that little black
dress left over from holiday parties. Very Audrey Hepburn. - Step4
Accessorize with rhinestones, unless you're lucky enough to have the real thing. C'mon ladies, make Marilyn proud.
- Step5
Get creative and dress as your favorite Oscar nominee. This is where things get fun. If arriving to the party as a group, dress as an entire cast. And the Oscar goes to....

Sundance, Swede, Skiing, Surfing?
Saturday we took to the slopes on a mild snowy day up at the "local resort"
The swede took off for a couple of runs
by himself and look who came to my rescue..
(I swear, I think it is a requirement to be
"good looking" to get on the Ski Patrol)
~~~~~~~~~
Later that day, I caught the Swede trying to surf in the snow???
He wasn't even boarding that day!
It was a fun afternoon, you really do meet some
interesting people swooshing down the hill.
The day after yesterday.
(notice the left hand)
I really don't like to talk about it, or celebrate
it, but I have to say that it was a nice day in my life.
to all my wonderful family and
Facebook friends and work comrades, neighbors and others...
Thank you for remembering me and celebrating my birth!
~~~~~~~
I was fed a delicious Italian meal and showered with presents.

Color Me???
At work , someone made a comment that when
they looked at me they saw "color"
I laughed, I wasn't sure what that meant.
He explained that I had good taste in my clothing color section.
Huhmmmm...
I found this interesting website about what color are You?
This link will lead you to a quick quiz that might
make you look at yourself in a "colorful " way.
What color are you and what color do you think I am?
(hint..I am the color of a ruby)

A Great Reminder
My dear friend BethLynn and her husband Paul
Beth Lynn decided to give me the responsibility of
tending and caring for her
Phalaenopsis hybrid orchid
When she brought it over, it had 6 closed buds.
Now take a look at it...
I am very nervous about the next few months,
wish me luck..I know it's a plant but..
she has had this lovely for years!
~~~
Everyday I look at this magnificent flower,
I am reminded of this wonderful friendship.
Love Is All Around...
As a young girl growing up in Portland Oregon, it was our family tradition to
fly like cupid and deliver valentines to our neighbors home.
We would ring and run, leaving a valentine and a cupcake.
I didn't continue this tradition with my girls
but, they always got some special valentine from See's candy.
This year I have three grand kids to share my love with.
We ( Dallas, the Swede) took a few hours to put together
some letters of love and valentines to send
to those "sweet" grand kids.
Here is our creative effort.
I think I am being out done...
Coincidence?
I did not know of her until tonight...
I watched Quentin Taratino's "Inglourious Bastards"
and noticed in the beginning credits a Mélanie Laurent starring in this movie.
So what..! you say...
well,
I did a google search and here is what
I found out...
not only does she have my name
(which by the way is French..)
She is born the same day I am!
Blue Cheese Lovers Only
This is how to make a white blue chesse sauce or Bechamel
Ingredients:
1/4 c. butter
1 c. half and half
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
2 cloves garlic minced
2 full T. blue cheese
Melt butter in med sauce pan. Add 1/4 c. half and half on low heat.
Sift into mixture 1/4 c. flour. Stir with whisk until thickens.
Keep adding small amounts of half and half until sauce is creamy consistancy.
Add salt and blue cheese. Turn off heat and stir until cheese has melted.
I love this creamy nutty like flavor that adds a suprise to
any boring bechamel sauce.
Lefty Trivia
Is there a quick test to determine handedness?
Try this: Sitting comfortably, fold your hands together and notice which thumb is on top. Lefties will have the right thumb on top.
Hand preference is usually not evident until children are age 4. Some children have been known to exhibit a preference as early as age 2.
I have been asked by many "south paws" is there any left-hander advocacy organizations?
The one I have heard about is Lefthanders International. They are located in Topeka, Kansas and can be reached at the following address: Lefthanders, International P.O Box 8249 Topeka, Kansas 66608 USA
